Who We Are
The World Affairs Council of Jacksonville is a growing organization with more than 800 members, drawing from across Northeast Florida. Our Board of Directors includes ambassadors, senior military officers, business & community leaders and government officials. Members value the opportunity to connect with other internationally minded citizens.
Our History
The Council, formed in 1985 as the National Interest Forum, joined the World Affairs Councils of America in 1995. The World Affairs Councils of America is the largest international affairs non-profit association in the U.S., with more than 500,000 members and 90 affiliated organizations across the nation.
The Council has grown from a small organization sponsoring a modest speaker program, to reaching thousands of individuals every year through an acclaimed speaker series, educational programs, special events and an expanding network of young professionals.
The Council received the World Affairs Councils of America President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2005. The President’s Award is awarded annually to Councils that have shown extraordinary innovation, growth, outreach, and impact.

Funding
The World Affairs Council of Jacksonville is a vital hub for civic and corporate leadership in Northeast Florida.
