About the Speaker
Ed Baker is Uber's Vice President of Growth, based in San Francisco. He is considered one of the world’s top thought leaders in the consumer internet growth discipline, having spent over 15 years innovating in this space. His past roles include Head of International Growth at Facebook, where Ed helped Facebook push past the billion-user mark; co-founder/CEO of Friend.ly, a social Q&A site with 25 million registered users, which was acquired by Facebook; co-founder of Viki, Inc., an online international video site which was acquired by Rakuten; and and co-founder of Send Hotness, a Facebook application with 5 million users which was acquired by SpeedDate. Ed’s group at Uber brings riders and drivers to the platform, fueling an astounding expansion to millions of rides per day. He has an AB in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, and an MBA from Stanford, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. Ed graduated from The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida in 1997. He and his wife, Sarah, have three children and currently live in Palo Alto.
