About the Speaker

Robert Guest is the Foreign Editor of The Economist. He has also served as the magazine's United States Editor and global Business Editor. He has reported from roughly 70 countries, lived in six and won numerous awards. He is the author of "The Shackled Continent", a book about how Africa could become richer, and "Borderless Economics", a book about how migration makes the world brainier, which Tim Harford of the Financial Times called "witty, rigorous, humane, provocative and dazzlingly well-reported". He lives near London and has three children who regularly beat him at a variety of sports.
