2007-2008 Special Engagements:
- We were pleased to offer two special viewings of the award-winning documentary, "Shakey’s Hill". The first was held at the Ponte Vedra Beach Library on July 24, 2007 and the second on October 9, 2007 in partnership with the Downtown Jacksonville Main Library.
- On October 30, 2007, Council Director, Diane DeMell Jacobsen, Ph.D., presented a comprehensive analysis of the War on Terror and Prospects for Peace in Iraq and Afghanistan before a special gathering of about 150 Council members at the University of North Florida.
- On May 13, 2008, Mr. Preston Haskell, Chairman of The Haskell Company, discussed "China and India: Challenges and Opportunities" at the Council’s Annual Meeting.
- On June 18, 2008 at Public Television Station WJCT, Jacksonville World Affairs Council board member, Dr. Diane Jacobsen, presented an update on her analysis of challenges facing the United States in the Middle East and South Asia.
