At the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville, we welcome and rely on the support of volunteers. Are you interested in volunteering? Let us know your area of interest. The following are a few of the volunteer opportunities available to you.
Administration
Assist with member mailings and general office support.
Development
Identify potential sponsors and appropriate strategies for making requests; assist with making introductions, and/or development calls.
Education
Review ongoing and potential new education outreach programs; participate in selection of scholarship and teacher award winners; identify potential sponsor and/or grant sources to support programs; serve as volunteers for Academic WorldQuest.
Membership
Develop plans to expand membership and ensure strong membership renewals; analyze use and value of member benefits; assist with staffing the membership table at events; host a reception at your home or club for prospective members.
Programming
Identify potential topics/speakers for Global Issues Evenings and Global Business Luncheons and Special Engagements.
Public Relations / Marketing
Assist in creating plans to increase the Council’s visibility in the community; and/or promote events in your neighborhood or workplace.
Special Events
Work with World Affairs Council staff to coordinate all aspects of Special Events.
Other Opportunities
Host a membership recruiting event or an in-home reception for a speaker.
