Announcing the 2026 Ambassador Marilyn McAfee Scholarship Recipients

When many students consider studying abroad, the cost is often detrimental, and many students miss out on opportunities to expand their worldview and engage in cross cultural dialogue. This is where the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville’s Ambassador Marilyn McAfee Scholarship comes into play.
The Ambassador Mairlyn McAfee Scholarship is awarded each year to undergraduate and graduate students from local universities, who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and career aspirations in international business, public policy, and foreign affairs.
Named in honor of former Council Chairman Ambassador Marilyn McAfee, the purpose of the scholarship program is to help defray the cost of an international experience outside of the United States as part of the recipients’ educational development.
The Council is proud to announce the recipients of this year’s Ambassador Marilyn McAfee Scholarships and where they will be studying abroad.
Logan Cake is an UNF student who is currently an undergraduate Accounting major with minors in international business, finance, economics, and marketing at UNF. He is Graduating in December 2027 and studying abroad in Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea.
“Experiencing how financial systems, consumer behavior, and marketing practices operate in South Korea will deepen my understanding of international business and broaden the way I think about global markets. The chance to study alongside students from different countries will also help me build cross‑cultural communication skills and expand my perspective on how business decisions are shaped by cultural values and social trends.”
Isabela Cosio is an UNF student who is currently an undergraduate International Business and Marketing major. She is graduating in May 2027 and will also be studying abroad at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea.
“Being part of a program such as this one will provide me with the chance to improve my intercultural communication skills and understand others from different cultures in a way that cannot be learned in a typical classroom. In this way, I will be better equipped to serve those in my community with differing backgrounds, offering better help and perspective rooted in my real-life experiences.
Lastly, Marc-Anthony Nehme is in the process of pursuing his Business degree from UNF. He is graduating in December 2026 and studying abroad at KEDGE Business School in Marseille, France.
“Having the chance to study abroad at KEDGE Business School is a great opportunity for me to learn and experience a new culture and way of life in another part of the world. This is a very important learning and life experience for me personally because I am an immigrant to the United States from Lebanon. Having grown up and been exposed to different cultures and ways of life have led me to become very curious and interested in learning more about people from different backgrounds and how they think, talk, and work with each other.”
